The 188B visa is a commercial temporary residence visa established for professionals who intend to engage in various investment activities in Australia. It is valid for four years after approval. This visa does not require the applicant to have a business, but requires the applicant to have certain investment experience and experience, and obtain certain benefits from it. After the visa is approved, applicants who hold 1.5 million government-designated bonds for four years and have lived in Australia for more than two years within four years can apply for an 888B permanent residence visa.

Application conditions

1. The main applicant is 18-54 years old, and the EOI score is 65 points and above;

2. The main applicant has at least three years of direct management company or investment experience;

3. The applicant and his/her spouse must meet the following investment requirements:

(1) Owned at least 10% of the shares and participated in the management of the eligible business in at least 1 of the 5 fiscal years preceding the application; or,

(2) Participate in the management of investments with a value of at least AUD 1.5 million in at least one of the five financial years preceding the application;

4. The applicant or spouse (or applicant and spouse) has a net worth of at least A$2.25 million in the 2 financial years preceding the application;

5. Before obtaining a visa, the main applicant needs to invest 1.5 million Australian dollars in government-designated bonds.
