1. What kind of courses can you apply for 500 visa
a) English Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS);
b) Secondary or high school courses;
c) vocational education and training certificate courses;
d) Higher education courses: bachelor's degree, associate's degree, postgraduate certificate/diploma, master's degree (taught), higher education diploma, higher education diploma;
e) Master (non-taught, research), doctorate;
f) Australian Foreign Affairs, Trade or Defence sponsorship of students;
2. Application requirements
In general, three types of application qualifications need to be met: being admitted to an Australian full-time educational institution, having sufficient financial support during your stay in Australia, and having a real intention to study.
3. Funding Requirements
Applicants or their parents need to have sufficient funds to cover tuition fees and living expenses during their stay in Australia. The visa officer may ask for financial documents, such as proof that the funds cover the applicant and accompanying family members’ 12-month tuition, living expenses, travel expenses, and accompanying children’s study expenses.
4. English requirements
When applying for a school, most schools will make English requirements for students, and the specific requirements depend on the grade, subject and the nature of the school. If the English requirements are not met, students may be required to take a short-term English course, and only after meeting certain grades can study the main course.
When applying for a visa, you may also be asked to provide proof of English proficiency or proof of enrollment in relevant English courses as required by the school.
Spouse accompanying visa
For international students with existing families, their spouses can apply for a student visa together with the student and accompany the student to come to Australia; or apply for an accompanying student visa to visit the student in Australia after the student arrives to study in Australia.
